Maldives / Extra Divers Thelu Veliga

The new Extra Divers diving center is located directly on the jetty of Thelu Veliga in Southern Ari Atoll. Here you can enjoy the tranquillity and still experience a lot under water. This dive region is without doubt one of the best and most spectacular of the Maldives.
The species diversity ranges from bat and surgeon fish, from barracudas and sting rays up to year-round whale shark and manta sightings.

Diving/Dive spots

Daily morning and afternoon boat trips are offered with a traditional Dhoni, outfitted with all possible comforts. Depending on the guest's desires, individual trips, 2-tank trips, full day trips and night dives are scheduled, given that the travel time to the beautiful dive sites are between 10 minutes and an hour. The island Thelu Veliga is strategically well situated, offering the easily accessible Giris with its magnificent corals, the legendary and exciting channel dives, and let's not forget the wrecks.
The incredible fish variety becomes apparent not only by the tortoises, Napoleonfish and rays, but above all through the many different shark species.
There are over 30 dive sites to select from, including legendary "Broken Rock", "Lucky Hell", "Thinfushi Tila" and "Kudarah Tila".

Team & Education

The dive center is under the professional leadership of Roman Young and Alessandra Hunziker.
An excellent all-round service is provided for our international patrons. Here, our main focus is personal attention in small groups so guests become an unforgettable underwater experience. Diving courses are given according to SSI standards, from Open Water Diver up to Divemaster, in German and English.

The bill is written on the room and can be paid at the end of the holiday
at the reception in cash (USD / Euro / British Pound) or CC.

Highlights & Specials

The South Ari Atoll is known for the over 200 year-old whale sharks that swim all their way to the south. In addition, you can also admire mantas all year round. The famous dive sites such as Kuda Rah Tila, Broken Rock and 5 Rocks impress with their unique rock formations and the enormous fish richness. The South Ari Atoll has something to offer for wreck lovers as well. The Kudimaa, sunk in 1998, is 30 meters deep and has a length of 53 meters. The brave among you can also take a closer look at the cargo space and engine room.
